About the event
Gareth Mewes and the Mewes News are here to inform you all about all the latest Gypsy Jazz news, and fill your ears with some frenetic virtuosic music in the process.
Sounding reminiscent of Stephane Grapelli, Django Reinhardt, classical Paganini and fiery Romani music, Gareth has been performing violin for over 25 years. Touring Australia, Asia and Europe with an orchestra in his teenage years, traveling around Australia with many bands and receiving a Bachelor in Jazz at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music.
